Located on the Dionysiou Areopagitou pedestrian walk along the southern side of the Acropolis, in direct view of the Parthenon (less than 300 meters away) it exhibits in a very modern and spectacular way the most famous and impressive findings from the “sacred rock” of the Acropolis The exhibits cover an extensive period of time, from the Mycenaean to the Classic. Inaugurated in 2009, it was built over important findings from Roman and early Byzantine Athens, discovered during the excavations for its foundations, that are visible through glass flooring on the actual ground level and can also be visited to walk through.
