Athens, Greece

SYNTAGMA SQUARE

Place to visit

Syntagma (= Constitution) Square is considered to be the center of the city, one of the busiest parts of central Athens. It is bordered on the East by the Parliament building and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier where, every day on the hour and every Sunday morning at 11:00’, the weekly changing of the Evzones’ Guard parade draws large crowds of visitors. On the West, busy Ermou street with its long line of major shops on either side leads to the main commercial area. On the North and South sides, luxury hotels and business buildings complete the set, with the crowded tree planted square in the middle, major meeting point for Athenians and visitors.
