Kanoni & Pontikonissi (Mouse Island)

The unique location of Kanoni (canon in Greek), at the western tip of the peninsula by the same name, offers an idyllic landmark view down to the small convent of Panagia Vlachairena and to the famous Pondikonissi (“Mouse island”) with its 13th century chapel and cypress trees, and beyond it to the southern part of the island. On the other side, to the West, you look over the Chalikiopoulos lagoon (the “Illaic” port of the town of Korkyra in Classical times), and also to the airport’s landing strip.
